Sweet Poison

The sweet shattered nothings
You carelessly whispered to me
Like a fool I asked for more
And seemingly lovingly
They poured forth,
Lies poured forth
From your poison mouth
And slowly started to kill me
From the inside out

Struggling to grasp at air
You laughed as I fell in agony
From your sweet poison
Slowly it destroys me
You rip apart my heart
With the secrets I so willingly told you
The darkness inside my heart
That you chose to expose
To tear apart my soul
So sweetie I pray this hurts
I wish upon every single shining star
That these words here
Rip you to shreds
Punish you for the agony
The torment you've inflicted
Upon an already damaged soul
And as I write
I start to heal
And you start to be taken
By the same sickly poison that
Destroyed me.

Nothing quite like trusting someone enough tell them of the darkness within and then have them use it in an attempt to control or destroy you. It can take years to get over, but you will, only after you can move beyond it. Not forgive, no never forgive, or forget.
    Peace

Oh goodness. This is an amazing poem. I loved all metaphors in it. It didn't seem forced at all, and flowed wonderfully.

And I am sorry for whatever this person did to you. It sounds like it really hurt, but you made it into a wonderful poem and that does count for something, even if it doesn't feel like it yet.

    I am so sorry.

the emotion in this peice is very srong and very well conveyed. i am so sorry that you went through something that painful. but going through things like this is what makes us decent human beings and great writers. use your emotions and situations, rather they be good or bad, and turn them into something beautiful. because the world could always use more beauty. thank u for sharing. a very good write.
