The Suns Sonnet

What fool the sun must be, so young, so new.
To think that he would have some new answer
That his light would be accepted by you.
As it spreads like some ravaging cancer.

For instead that lovely disease goes on,
Unwanted, shaded underneath your sight
Never to be seen for there is no dawn.
The time for that has passed, there is no light.

And you sit by the moon, precious and sweet.
Content underneath the glow it provides,
Though it shall not give the beautiful heat,
Which the sun offers through the hot glowing eyes.

The suns rays may never meet thine eyes,
But the light it brings will never just die.

    Welcome to Allpoetry!

This is a beautiful sonnet. Your words are poignant and the imagery is beautiful. I love the way that you've written this, the personification of the sun's rays a ravaging cancer. Very well done.
