Revelation III

Had I a hammer, I would break hinges
or a saw, take planks apart
and see splinters fall to the waiting earth
but what good would it be
to destroy that entrance
and rush in?

For unless the Lord open the door
no man shall enter it
no matter his use of force
so I throw aside my hammer, my God
and knock gently; humbly
  praying that you will hear
and bid me come into glory
that I might finally, fully see.

Author notes

"After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you..."
