Angel Of Hope

 

                  Standing in the glow of the moonlight
                  stands a fair young maiden.
                  Makes you wonder why she is alone !
                  Could it be that her heart is broken ?
                  Watching from my window
                  for what seems like hours,
                  she is waiting, standing patiently.
                  until her beauty, the night she devours.
                  Glowing stronger than a rainbow
                  her radiance turns dark into light.
                  She reaches out, capturing a butterfly
                  with the palm of her hand, smiling in delight.
                  As I stand to get a better view
                  from behind her comes a glow of wings.
                  More butterflies, then she appears to talk to them
                  as they create a halo around her with their wings.
                  Could it be that I have seen
                  a goddess, the Angel of Hope.
                  For all of those that have been graced by her presence
                  comes a Love so true, no pain can cope.
                  Oh be my prayer, my Angel of Hope
                  send away the clouds, bring me the sunshine.
                  Let me touch you and hold you for awhile
                  until our two hearts, intertwine.
