than the sway of my hips
or the curve of my breast
or the blush on my cheek
I am
More
than the length of my hair
or the style of my shoes
or the fit of my jeans
I am
More
than what you give me credit for...
I am dreams.
I am actuality.
I am action-
and reaction...
in all its various forms.
I am the songs that I sing
and the poetry that I write.
I am the love that I show
and the tears that I cry.
I am laughter.
I am the ticking of time.
I am the keeper of memories
and the knowledge of
My life.
And it has been a good one.

than my shell.
