The Call

Written 03.09.09

I heard it this morning,
tapping on my window,
like soft little raindrops
pouring into my soul.
I felt it call my name
and I jumped to my feet.
It's the call I've been awaiting,
it's my destiny I'll meet!
I'll follow the call
right out my front door.
I'll follow the roads
to places unknown.
I'll see the oceans,
sail the might seas!
I'll follow the paths
fate has laid out for me.
And one night when my adventure is done,
I'll travel back to my home and my bed.
And in the years to come
I'll lay by the river
and thing of my adventure,
and I'll wait for a time to come
when once again
I'll hear
the call.

    Nicely Done

The poem is nicely done. I see you did not go for rhyme but fluency. It makes me want to either take a nap or go fly out my window if I could and if the glass shards would not hurt me.
