Bowl of Soup

I bring the silver colored spoon to my mouth.
Slowly, a puddle of good
comes toward me.
I see the red brilliance of pepper
cut long,
the green of peas, added just for that purpose,
cauliflower white,
almost-octagonal carrot
coming to my mouth
to make me whole and healed.
I smell the elaboration
of bone and breast,
spice and lime.
Ripples dance with oily bubbles
as I blow in anticipation, and yet,
I burn my tongue.

An unusual topic to get poetic about, however, you handled it well. I might alter the green pea line and smooth it out. Here's a suggested thought; "sweet young peas, added for that touch of green."

Good luck in the contest and happy trails.

well done, any left for me?

yummy, i can almost taste these fresh flavours and textures in my mouth before my imagination recoils after i also scold my tongue
pepper makes it more spicy yum
peas are little balls of goodness
    cauliflower with its beautiful texture
    carrot with its crisp taste
    meat added is delish
    however spice and lime
    are two ingredients
    that have rarely if not
    ever entered my own soups
    after reading this
    they surely will
    thankyou for your poetry piece
that enhanced my perspective of flavours
    while tickling my tastebuds

But the last line can also be something like a prophesy infact...! What yu feel beautiful could not be beautiful all the time!
Hey im intrested to know what did yu do the moment after yu burnt yur tongue...yu shouted or scurried or ran for water or...
