True Blue (For Thanksgiving)

The road I walk is a lonely one,
The experiences in life are not always fun.
For destiny and fate are rolled into one,
My walk in life started when I was quite young.
I give thanks to all those who share in my life,
I give thanks to the women - the ones I called wife.
I give thanks to the powers that saved my life,
Death knocked on my door - not once, but trice.
My mother died on Thanksgiving day,
Thanks to the powers that took her suffering away.
Thanksgiving is for caring and sharing with all,
The Indians and Pilgrims made this call.
Whether yellow, black or white,
It's a day to do whats right.
A day of laughter and so much more,
It comes from the heart, so let it soar.
Have a Great Day and many, many more.

yes, i can see its personal. but... it just lacks that extra... power... the kick that makes a poem rip out the heart, throw it on the floor but crave the abuse given.
    it needs that kick
