Trick or Treat

"Trick or Treat "

said the little child,

and on sharing her my candy,

She infected me her smiles.

Author notes

We don't celebrate Haloween in our country so it's the only thing coming to my mind:
Haloween=Shares of smiles

    Lovely...just as I never went for halloween, it's something from the last couple of years...but I can imagine the childs face when she smiles while sharing your candy....

    Fear's Whispered Ingenuity - All Hallow's Eve Pantoum

    It was All Hallow's Eve; a scary time,
    bent-backed witches cackled paws into lives,
    magical night wraps up delicate rhyme
    while battered ghosts howl to wide-eyed captives.

    Bent-backed witches cackled paws into lives;
    full of fear's whispered ingenuity,
    while battered ghosts howl to wide-eyed captives
    trials and tribulations taste so nasty.

    Full of fear's whispered ingenuity,
    the children shivered excitement's language,
    trials and tribulations taste so nasty
    as blood stains a mummy's ancient bandage.

    The children shivered excitement's language,
    natural instincts crawling with maggots,
    as blood stains a mummy's ancient bandage
    vampires rise from traditional caskets.

    Natural instincts crawling with maggots
    whip up a feast in the old atmosphere,
    vampires rise from traditional caskets
    with teeth ready to become quite severe.

    Whip up a feast in the old atmosphere;
    blood and gut covered candy is sweet delight,
    with teeth ready to become quite severe
    werewolves spiral their laughter into fright.

    Blood and gut covered candy is sweet delight,
    magical night wraps up delicate rhyme,
    werewolves spiral their laughter into fright,
    it was All Hallow's Eve; a scary time.

    Ohhhh!! This is so sweet, so different from the usual Haloween poems I see around that are always spooky. This was beautiful and I could almost see the little child looking up in happiness and season thrill to recieve her candy, such a beauty. Good luck in the contest, dear.

    Love

    Yes, trick or treat is a joy for children, they can dress up and they can collect candy while showing off their costumes, a magical time for any child! Your words share the magic! Write on my friend.

    "WOW"

    You may not celebrate Halloween in your Country.
    But you sure caught the Spirit of Halloween in the U.S.A.
    You said so much in only four lines and so few words .
    I could see a little child looking up at you and just simply saying
    Trick or Treat and not even looking to see what you put in her Bag
    Just looking up with sparkling eyes and a penetrating SMILE that was worth more than all the treats one could carry in a Bag.
    Thank you so much for your beautiful entry.
    I wish you the best of luck in the contest.

    ED.
