Scratching the surface,
Trapped behind the wall,
Afraid to take the chance,
Terrified she’ll fall.
Refracted reflections
Of who he sees,
Running from a truth,
That rips her to her knees.
Too long in shadow,
Hiding from the light,
Won’t enjoy the treasure
