There it Lay

There it lay,
Silver and gleaming,
My choice of weapon,
My only resort.

There it lay,
Cold and crimson,
Bleeding out,
I couldn't stand the pain,
It had attached to it anymore.

There it lay,
Wrinkled and scribbled on,
My last goodbyes,
My only way to say I'm sorry.

There it lay,
Broken and shattered,
No need see my self anymore,
No need to upset myself over it anymore.

And finally,

There I lay,
Cut up and bruised,
A smile on my face,
For I no longer have to care about it anymore.

Author notes
