Oh Angie, why are you up walking?
It’s 3:10 in the morning - Come to bed.
I’m trying, but you just keep on crying,
and I almost think that I’d be better dead.
I am tired of the fighting
and the failing in this case.
I have tried to show her patience,
and she throws it in my face.
You know I never meant to let her down.
She digs her own grave deep,
and I can't even rest at night
‘cause she’s walking in her sleep.
Oh Angie, what is that you’re taking?
You can’t control your shaking - Drop the pills.
You’re breaking, but they all think you’re faking,
and I can’t believe you’re standing with me still.
I’m just tired of the fighting
and the failing in this case.
I have tried to show her patience,
and she throws it in my face.
You know I never meant to let her down.
She digs her own grave deep,
and I can't even rest at night
‘cause she’s walking in her sleep.
Oh Angie, the night is dark and dreary,
and you’re no longer with me - Where’d you go?
You’re walking, and in a trance, you’re talking,
and I’m running out to find you in the cold.
And from out among the shadows,
I can see a silhouette.
It is Angie on a cliff-side,
and she threatens to forget
that she ever lived a life on earth
but only in the grave.
I had tried so hard to change her mind,
but she’s fallen to the waves.
Oh, Angie. Why were you up walking?
It was 3:10 in the morning...
….come to bed…

Author notes
I was listening to Hanson's song "Yearbook", taking the mood of that song and appling it to the picture in the link. These lyrics came to life.

No matter how hard you attempt to save someone-you can never save them from themselves. Love the depth of this, anyone who has lost someone to themselves should be able to see within this work.
Not familiar with the "Hanson" tune, this is strong enough that a melody jumps off the page.
Well Done!!

This is amazing. You are great with lyrics, absolutely fantastic.
My favorite part-
Oh Angie, the night is dark and dreary,
and you’re no longer with me - Where’d you go?
You’re walking, and in a trance, you’re talking,
and I’m running out to find you in the cold.

beautiful and sad
Your words are very heartbreaking and powerful. I have never had to deal with someone who has given up on living, and you bring the reader into the pain of this experience.
These lines really express the frustration well:
"I have tried to show her patience,
and she throws it in my face.
You know I never meant to let her down."
You bring the emotion from the picture to life with your words. I really like the beginning of your stanzas using "Oh Angie".
Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with all of us.
