In the dark the night seems long.
I wallow in my distress.
I am a lark. Hear my song,
though I am singing less.
I still wait for end of night,
it still seems very long.
In the dark, there's moments of light,
to match my moments of song.
In the dark it seems You're gone,
and why I'm in distress.
Am I the lark that sings Your song?
Forgive my singing less.
But I will wait for end of night,
no matter how it is long.
The darker the dark, the brighter the light,
the greater the joy my song.
Day is coming, one without end,
unending joyful song to fill it.
I pray the Father, His Son to send.
Answer the Seal on my spirit.

inspired, hopeful
I have no doubt You hold me while I wipe my tears of fear
And no doubt that I hurt You when I wish I were dead instead
I have seen Your love heal others, to love myself is a hopeless mess
I know You ache when my hurt, anger, and despair feels beyond repair
I am hopeful that these days of darkness will be over, and will be brought into light.
I pray for that day to be tomorrow every night.

Would I Dare to Say...
...that my words inspired some of your own?
If so, that would be the greatest compliment/encouragement one writer can give another. For that, I am blessed, sweet sister.
May the Lord trump your wishes and imagination, giving you beyond all you could hope, dream or desire. (Ephesians 3:14-20)
AMEN!!!

wow
I love this one. Its dark yet full of light in a way that no one sees. Good way to express the soul and spirit.

Gee! I can really relate! This is a testiment to faith in sadness and trials!
Great!

I am re-reading the Psalms now...you can really feel the sorrow depicted by Psalm 43, yet the hope of the light that still pushes through...I just love the image usage of the lark singing less, only because of the sadness. Bookmarked this one...just awesome...beautiful. Blessings.

Beautiful! You show the sorrow but keep it wrapped in a hope and faith that refuses to be swallowed up by the darkness. Love that last line too.

BTW...
I'm enjoying some light. I caught myself singing along with a worship song on my car's radio.
Thank You, Lord, for the moment...

Somehow...
...I have to go back to the hope of the Promise, no matter how I'm feeling.
