I'm at a crossroads,
And I need to decide,
Which path I will choose,
On this self propelled ride.
This crossroads has two,
Paths I can choose from,
One left, one right,
But which is the good one?
The left one says,
"Be a kid and have fun!"
But is that always the answer?
Or is it the other one?
The one on the right,
Says, "Grow up and move on!"
I know I should mature,
But it just feels wrong.
This crossroads is eating me,
And tearing up my mind,
The biggest problem is,
I'm running out of time.
I like the left,
Because I like acting young,
And the one on the right,
Seems a little high strung.
But then again,
I do need to mature,
But the road I will choose,
Is still unsure.
I will decide,
When the time comes,
But as for now,
I will choose neither one.
I will walk through the field,
That lays between the roads,
And I just when I need to,
To select the right mode.
I will be young and have fun,
But I will be mature when needed.
The choice will be made,
When this plan is defeated.

To me it seems a very nouveau take on Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken". But it's very personal and easy to relate in this poem to the speaker and his dilemma because at some point or another in life, we all have had to ponder this. The simplicity of the poem goes well with the theme; however some parts of this write could be made stronger by re-evaluating some word choice. That's my only critique for a nice, easy-to-digest poem. Thank you for expressing artisically. Best wishes.
