There's a flame atop the Roman candle in your grasp
That you created in vain for our farce to forever last
And with a laugh I shed a tear for the romance lost
This paradise filled with fear and a layer of delicate frost
For at sundown I lost my trust
The icon in my fingers turned to dust
And you kneel before me
Well it’s pointless
Well it’s shameful
What are we?
Mortal, undeniably mortal
Our flesh is weaker than our hearts
There is no magick no gods that can change
Our fate, there is no rituals or black arts
My dear don’t weep for our love may be strange
But to die is greater than to fall
Our utopia was built and fell on the border line
Between the earth and hell for our single heavenly crime
To be so noble but to live in vice is how we survived
But at such a price our promises never arrived
So with the moon I will shine
In the darkness you once called divine
And you weep before me
Well it’s pointless
Well it’s shameful
What are we?
Mortal, undeniably mortal
Our flesh is weaker than our hearts
There is no magick no gods that can change
Our fate, there is no rituals or black arts
My dear don’t weep for our love may be strange
But to die is greater than to fall
Your kiss will bring the wary dawn
We will bury our dreams this dawn
And you fade before me
Well it’s pointless
Well it’s shameful
What are we?
Mortal, undeniably mortal
Our flesh is weaker than our hearts
There is no magick no gods that can change
Our fate, there is no rituals or black arts
My dear don’t weep for our love may be strange
But to die is greater than to fall

Mortals are strong even if our flesh seems weak, there is strength in a heart and a soul that hardly anyone ever takes credit for. If one cannot handle mortality, how will they be able to handle immortality. Great write you have here.
