My mind lingers longingly over the thought of
holding your sweet innocence
My ears deafened by your heartbeat
so alive within my body and soul
I count the sweet seconds to hear your breath
Warm against my cheek
To entwine your little fingers with mine
Counting your little toes
My only fear is to loose you
My only goal is to protect you
