still you swim
in the shallow tidelands
of my heart
like seas of wheat
after a hundred-year flood
over hills of the flesh,
your thighs golden
mountain ranges
down your legs
estuaries in
rock quarry pits
deep as eyes drilled
through the Earth
with bones of granite
and hair like black smoke
rising from razed fields
of corn kernel teeth
and maple syrup skin
naked you clutch me
to hold me back
from falling
into depths I don’t dare
dream of your love
like opiate canyons
leading to the dark folds
of your golden hills
and cobalt sky eyes
in which you flap away
like crows winging
over your tilted dream world
far underwater
where the course of railroads
and track marks
plow your golden waves
on journeys to lands
too far for me to see

the woman as goddess..as earth and yet lover..your words are rich with passion and insight..and i, even at this great distance, am drawn in..walking those golden prairie hills in my own bare feet..skin on skin..searching for any crevasse which might lead to the heart of it all..breathtaking.

Really beautiful. Unique metaphors to give imagery for the reader. The sensuality is wonderful, the desire is really felt at the end, I see her getting fainter and fainter in my mind. Love the title! Seems she's someone always just out of grasp.

The impact of your words continue to astound me...I find myself returning over and over sometimes to the one work of yours I allow myself each day..
Beautiful... again...Ani

Wonderfully Penned
Darling I adore the traceable fluidity of hearts remembrance nary a time of forging ahead alone…embedded if you will with every fragrance intertwined with winds nuances unmarked time sifts hard to glean in life’s outcome…subtly speaking.
There is something left but then nothing gained as if ephemerally solutive laid this course for lands end. Interesting how it is just the here and now we sometimes garner replete. Darling I gift you my heartfelt thank you for taking me so many places some were more difficult than others, I wonder if worth while is wonderful.

Gorgeous penning, Scribe. Good luck in the contest.

That was a spiraling journey of beautiful!
I love the line breaks and the stream of thought similes and metaphors and a kind of urgency to describe the almost undescribable.
love your writing

Deep reflections, submerged ...
in the fetal comfort of aqua dreams, while the heart is in both mourning and in memories of passionate yearning ... Yes! This IS your style, Poet, and the texturedness and layeredness of a master poet ...
One cannot read your work with a sideways glance. To read you ask for a long evening, with a glass of wine and music softly playing the dancing shadows of candle light and of dreams.
Thank you so much for your presence here. And for your Muse, so sultry and so beautifully dark, and so agonizingly far. It stirs in me all those dreams never addressed.
Well done!
Love
Myra
