Your Baby

Unborn life, thrives inside you, siphoning off extra nutrients
Growing and growing, as the world can see, a new member is waiting
And long before plaster and ink, you will know him inside and out
From the beat of his heart, to the imprint of his toes
He will be a part of you, and no matter how old he becomes
He will always be,

Your baby.

I love this poem. the brevity contributes to the memorable effect. love the "spacing" of the last line, too.
