That Time of Year

Autumn becomes the canvas on which our Creator paints
every tree now begins to emanate their most amazing colors,
bright oranges and browns of the mighty Oak,
the majestic reds, pinks and golden browns of Maple,
forever green are needles of the Pine.

As the Aspen reflects similar reds and yellows with a golden hue
even  Popular’s take on a different shade of brown,
while the Spruce appears black from a distance when really blue,
the rich reds of Cedar add to its special scent,
Hickory and Cypress similar shades of yellow and brown.

Walnut and Chestnut display a yellow cast
once they drop their fruit upon the leaf covered ground.
Trees once green and full of leaves now becoming bare
in transition from birth to maturity they begin their change,
Natures splender in full regalia done by the Great Artist of all time.

Author notes

One needs to get out of their domain and see the transformation that Autumn brings. It is good for the soul.

You sound like my Dad, who knew trees like the back of his hand....How you distinguish all you mention, and the respect for the one who made them is most refreshing in your flowing lines...Keep penning poet...You are so refreshing to read!Bravo!
