Growing up together is the best thing that happened to me
Finding a friend that is like my other half
I love you more than my own sister
I would fight for you to the end
We practically live at one another's houses
We talk for hours daily on the phone
You know every single thing about me
And I have defended you more times than I can count
So why is it now that I have found a boyfriend
One I think things will actually work with
You are treating me so mean and nasty
Having tantrums like a baby
We still talk every day
We still see each other almost every day
But I have to be able to be with other people too
I didn't act like this when you had your boyfriend
Please try to understand I still love you
No one could ever take your place
You are my best friend for always
Just please give me some space

Well, I hope your friendship works out and it all comes together, so many times good relationships are hurt when the three can not find some common ground congrats on the trophy.

Friends come and go sometimes - I've learned that throughout the years. I had a friend who was engaged...her and the fiance set my (ex)husband and I up. When we got married before they did, they both seemed to drop out of their lives. She was around for a little while here and there but the communication stopped around my son's christening (he was 6 months old)...until I found out that they broke up...then I called her once and talked about it - she said she was going to call me back but never did. It's sad because we had been friends for 5 years at that point. I tried to call her a couple times, left messages but never got anything in return so I figured it wasn't worth pursuing if I was always the one to chase after her! So anyway, in a sense, this reminded me of her...great job!

Its what hapened to me, I got a boyfriend and my best friend suddenly wanted nothing to do with me. Id supported her through it all and one guy changed it. Unfortunately for us we dont talk anymore, I lost my best friend to a guy. Im now happy about it but Ive moved on and Im still with the guy and this happened last year, I still miss her but I cant try and be her friend if she treats me like shit. I liked your poem because it made me think about it a lot. sorry for sharing my life story instead of critiquing!

sounds like a dilemma. a true friend wouldnt make you choose. I have lost good friends when they got a girlfriend not very nice!!

this is a really good poem and very true too. you should be able to have a boyfriend without your best friend freaking out.

This was nice...and true too. I mean you can still love yuor best friend without having to spend every waking moment with them. Especialy if you have a boyfriend. The time needs to be equal and just because you choose boyfriend over them never means they arent important to you. Good job.
