When a Ghost Embraced the Dust

The mist embraced the shadows
Gasping for light
A reflection in the water
Whispered  goodbye

A mid-summer  morning
With silent rain
Clouding the sleeping heavens
And the twilight there

Her lover lies entombed
She cried upon his  grave.
The fog creeps through the mire
And sorrow filled the way
"In flames I long to separate,
To dream that I may die
And be confined  within your arms
For the remainder of my nights."

In time the evening settled
With a pale residue
Of the prior mornings
Bare burial mound

(Still writing additional verses)

Man: "I will be here my love till death do us part."
