Affect the way

I just wanted you happy
And that was the way to do it
Today I ask for one thing only

It seems like it downplays the intensity of the feeling that I am trying to portray, but maybe that is just because I also said I didn't want whiny... Tough combination to make...Good Job!

'But I know they would be true' i'm unsure what this line is relating to. i love the idea of taking the time to ask for forgiveness from those we've wronged, you wouldn't believe the amount of times i've had the urge to do so myself. otherwise very heartfelt, simple and honest. thanks for sharing
