I hope that you remember me
On evenings when the sun goes down
Or at the moment when the dawn breaks.
Our most beautiful moments were always
The moments in between all the big things.
I hope that you remember me
When that song plays on your computer
Or over the intercom at the supermarket.
I always sing along and run ragged fingers
Over the healing hairline fissures in my heart.
I hope that you remember me
When you sit down to write a poem
Or stand up to play those faithful notes
On the guitar where you made me lullabies
Every night when I was too restless to sleep.
I hope that you remember me
And know that somewhere, sometimes
I remember something that makes me smile
As well as everything you did to make me cry.
You're not real the way I wish you were. It's okay.
I hope that you remember me
Every single day in every single way you can
Because we signed our names in black blood
On the parchments of these, our lifetimes.
Remember me when I cannot.

This is really a great poem. Very well articulated ideas of a past that seemed to hold some importance. Some people say that it's the bad times that make the good worth living, and I hope you've put these bad times to good use.

wow, so heartfelt. I hope your okay! I was randomly writing the other day and it turned into a letter with basically the same idea behind it, you basically wrote a poem that expresses what I've been trying to say for a while and I absolutely freaking love it. I've already read it again and again and will probably read it again tomorrow
