Can you believe taking a simple Upper GI TEST?
My heart stopped allergic to contrast dye need I say the rest
I woke up hours later in intensive care with the feeling that an
elephant tapped danced on my chest
That’s just the least of it there’s much more I must confess
Came to during surgery felt the excruciating pain of the knife
Said it was my imagination but the anesthesiologist said I was right
While threading tubing through my groin into my heart
Felt every step of the angioplasty right from the start
There was that other time when in recovery I was sent
An allergic reaction to pain medicine then to heaven I almost went
Right then they washed all medication out of my system I began to pray
Please God I’ve had enough come take me away
Did I mention I’m allergic to almost every pain medicine made by man
So when having procedures done I guess they do the best they can
My experiences in hospitals are horrendous and severe
Yet I seem to end up there at least three of four times a year
I have often asked the Lord “Why Me Lord, Why Me”
Then I thought to myself why not me, who else would I wish it to be
I can’t think of any one that I would hate so very much
To have my kind of outrageous luck
Luck in deed I don’t think so, for I am blessed to be alive
God must have some great plans for me so I take it all in stride
Just another thing I have to go through; for my work is not yet done
They’re coming to wheel me away another procedure “Oh What Fun”

Wow, although *knock on wood* I haven't had quite such horrific experiences, I DO know how it is, to not be able to tolerate the medications that are "supposed" to help. Everything I try makes me worse, or damn near kills me. I wish you luck in the future, maybe Drs. will stop screwing up or some new medication will be available that you won't be allergic to.

Thought Evoking Write
I awakened during an angioplasty and an EGD (similar to upper gi) and colostomy, and most painful of all a discogram! Because of a bad back that causes extreme pain, I'm on a strong narcotic called dilaudid fed thru an internal pump. So they have to be careful what they give me. So forth I've survived my many trials. One thing I never do tho, is ask Why? I know He has a reason and Im the pot and He's the potter. He puts me in places for a reason if unknown to me so be it. He's the wise one.
Sorry to go on so much, but your write brought this out. I feel He's using us as His vessel to help others, showing your strength to show that it is possible, so don't give up till He calls upon you.
