Red letter spells
ducks and covers and chronic things
empty were them promised lands
prattled about by round eyed alarmists
with their wavy~gravy flags
snapping about like albacore fins
pressed in tin graves for later consumption
...ism
And consumers did and do
the way consumers did, done, do
hook line and sync her too
Miss America covered in Dippity-doo-doo
...yes'm
Rag head roads to opulent riches
i.e.d.'s and millions of stitches
again our kids die to fuel some dinner
pontifficated by the righteousness
of soft palmed men smelling of tripe
-a sneer at the brown busboy as he clears the bread plate
-some scribbled words on a gin soaked napkin
"I humbly accept this great honor to head big biz and to add legs to the profitable arms race"
Author notes
To all the men and woman who valiantly and honorably stand in harms way for an ideal we all should hold as dear.

Haven't heard "Wavy Gravy" in awhile, but then, I'm not up north where you and Rob are, either. Another good one, Scribe.
