Small Town Murder

Small town
rural town
and a very unsuspecting town
to the kind of thing I am about to reveal

Murder
something you would expect in a big  city
not a small quiet town like Mt Vernon
we're surprised
we're shaken
it's unreal

So many unasnwered questions
no one can fathom or believe this
the details are not pretty
and as  I said this would be more expected in
a big city
not a smalll town like Mt Vernon.

Author notes

On October 4th there was a murder committed in the next town over from me Mt Vernon. 4 high school students have been charaged in conncection with this crime. Everyone in my community is in shock because of this. No one can believe it.

    It's funny, because of the reasons years I find that the scariest and most disturbing stories are staring to emerge from the smaller cities rather than the bigger ones. I don't know why, or if it makes it scarier, but it definitely is disturbing, as any murder is. I like some of the repetition in this, though it does seem random. Maybe it wasn't? Deliberate or not, I liked it. Good job on this!
