The lightness turns to dark, and my vision goes blank,
Future turns to ashes, and my boat's already sank.
Twas supposed to take me onward, twas supposed to take me far,
Now I just sit here wishing for a fully stocked bar,
My future's clouded surely by the strength of this depression.
And my mind can only focus on one thing, one sole question.
Why did he do this to me? Oh, WHY?
But I know I'll never get an answer so I sit down with a sigh.
He broke me, he bruised me, he left me so shattered.
He broke my self-worth, left me so battered.
I try to go on, move forward in this life of mine,
But my halo's been broken, never again to shine.
I don't know what to do, or even where to start,
All I know is this bruising ache in my heart.
I fear I won't make it, that my story's end nears,
The deepest of my darkest fears.

Amazing! This is wonderfully penned! I think a lot of people will be able to relate to this, I know I have been there before..
I can't pick a favorite line or stanza because I think it too amazing as a whole! I love it!

I know how you feel, it's how I feel every day of my life. A good write, I really enjoyed the first couple of lines - they worked amazingly well. Keep it up!
