where rainbows go to sleep...

In a land far, far away where unicorns run,
and pixies play, there lies a cave of magical
light where a mystical invention gives
rainbows flight. They scorch the sky with
glowing gleam, when rain has dropped -
and children dream, to find the end of
the pretty view, and perhaps, find a
treasure of magic too. But the cave is
hidden very well indeed, by fairies and
gnomes to stop the human's greed - for if
they were to come across this beautiful
place, they'd turn it into a tourist trap
for the human race. And so, it remains a mystery
in a land far away, where unicorns run
and pixies play, within in a cave so dark and deep
the end of all rainbows.... where they can
safely sleep.

I liked the idea of this contest so much it has been ages since I have been inspired to write but your poem has taken some of the routes mine was taking and I really enjoyed it very much. I will have to see if I can come up with something else but those deep dark faraway places are where mind wanders too as well

This is wonderful! I loved it, it flows, it's creative, never thought of that myself, that in a mystic place where human race can't keep ruining it, because if we knew we could get the promise without hope it would be a problem. Excellent. Blessings.

Wow, this is why I love hosting contests like this, with just a few words of a prompt and then letting other people's imaginations create the poetry. I always get the most beautifully unexpected surprises! This poem takes me away to that magical place. It makes me smile. The rhyme and flow are flawless. It reads so beautifully!
This line stands out as the one that made me think
    "But the cave is
hidden very well indeed, by fairies and
gnomes to stop the human's greed - for if
they were to come across this beautiful
place, they'd turn it into a tourist trap
    for the human race."
That's probably very true so I'm glad the place is magical and far away from human greed. Thank you for letting me glimpse into the cave where rainbows sleep. Lots of luck in the contest and always!
