Please sometimes
can you manage a smile
when in one hours time
I can mirror your smile onto my lips.
I know you hate driving.
And it's dark and raining.
And you have to watch me
and my friends get drunk
then tuck me into bed
and drive home.
But I told you already
this is exactly
what love is.
Love is forgetting
there was ever a concept of time
Its putting me first
And me calling in sick to spend a day
in bed with you.
It's letting down everyone
except you
and it's you
putting me to bed.
Selfish? Perhaps.
But I read in a book once
and never looked back.
Still, you don't agree.
And you say you're car is broken
So I get drunk
And keep thinking
you still might come.

OMG. this is amazing. its so full of pain and wonder. i love it.

this is my favorite line in the poem. i love how the person is being so selfish but the other person is still taking the abuse.
"So i get drunk
and keep thinking
you still might come"
and than in the end the abused person finally gets out of the situation. a perfect ending to a sadd sadd relationship.
