When I am gone I don't want you to cry,
I will still be close but not so close,
that you can reach out and grab me,
touch me, see me, or reach me.
When I am gone you will get no word,
no warning,
no nothing,
just a shadow.
When I am gone you will see,
see the way you've treated me,
and you will suffer,
but I will not help.
When I am gone you will not know,
the reason I left or where I am going,
where I will end up,
or how I will get there.
When I am gone you will know,
what pain I felt all along,
to be one on the receiving end,
instead of the giving end as always.
When I am gone you will know. . .nothing.
