the trees corner and shun you,
they won't let the light through,
they don't want you to bloom...
You are not like them,
you are too different...
They say you are weak,
that you are small,
that they are mighty,
and they are tall...
You may be beautiful,
but the trees think they are more powerful...
They have roots that are big and strong,
but you don't so you don't belong...
To them you are a disgrace,
you are foreign
and invading their space
this is their forest,
and within it you hide...
They may be tall,
but they don't have all the power,
your inner spirit is brighter than them all,
you are the wild flower...
Don't let those trees push you around,
keep up your fight,
stand your ground,
don't let them take all the light...
You have the real power
wild flower...
You may not fit in,
you might be small
but remember
the bigger they are
the harder they'll fall...
you have the real power
wild flower...
Author notes
I wrote this poem over 5 ago, so I was about 19...I finally decided to post it because it has a good message, I wrote it about my high school experience,I was never in the "in" crowd, and people teased me a lot...and this poem is dedicated to anyone who has ever been through that...the message is no matter where you are, where you come from, or what you look like, you are a person, you are unique. You deserve to exist as much as anyone else even if you are different...I personally am proud to be a wild flower, and not in a clique of trees....
