Seems my little sister had just got a new bike it was blue in color
She wasn’t home at the time and the new bike was parked outside
When big brother and I decided to take a it for a ride
Beings it was a girls’ model there was no place for me to sit
So on the handlebars my brother told me to climb
As he was older I listened to him most all the time
Off we went headed up the alley to the next street over
Onto the main road we went riding double right in traffic
Brother was having a hard time seeing where we were going
As he hit a pothole guess who went flying high in the air
Sailing off the handlebars headed straight for the hard cement
The pavement came up so quickly I hardly had time to scream
There I was sitting in the middle of the road with cars all around
Big brother reached down picked me up while dragging the bike
Unfortunately the fork was broken and the tire was bent.
We pushed it home before anyone could see what we had done
Placing it in an upright position as if it was never ridden
Soon you came home to see your surprise ready to ride
once on the seat the front wheel fell off bent and broken.
You started to cry as your two older brothers ran to hide
Wasn’t long before Mom came out to see the commotion
Tears in your eyes because this was your very first ride
We paid dearly after fixing your blue colored bike.

I had to read, Sam, because I had a blue bike my Mom and I saved up for with coupons...Brand new....and then a girl friend rode it, and damaged it....It brings back memories..Bikes can be repaired, hearts need mending too...So well written in rhyme

The trouble I got into must have driven my parents crazy!
At the time I didn't give my actions much thought, but now that I see some of me in my children and grandchildren it scares me! When I say trouble, just minor like this bike ride, and other stuff.
Memories are treasures that need dusted off from time to time in order for us to realize there true value!
I'm happy it made you smile.
God bless...
