With You

Holding hands
Together
In darkness
With each other
With friends
With family

The air is heavy
Tense
We're all uneasy
Quiet, shifting
On edge
Like we're waiting

We're outside
Everything is dark
The sky, the air
Even the moon
Is dimmer

But the stars
Oh, the stars
Pinpoints of
White-hot fire
In the solid sky

Somewhere in the black
A radio mumbles
Says frightening things
"Nuclear attack"
"War"

In the sky
Next to the
Oddly dim moon
More fire
Red fire
Three, four, five points
Growing

The light from the fires
Bleeds
Gradually, the surroundings
Turn redder and redder

Strong arms enfold me
His arms
Whats all the noise?
It's my heart
Blood rushing
In my ears
And people running
The radio screaming

He calls my full name
And tells me he loves me
I'm crying
I think I tell him
That I love him too
But I don't know
I cant hear myself
I'm unaware

In His arms
We fall to the ground
Together
Laying on our sides
I'm facing Him
The light is bright red
It stains His face

I'm still crying
Warm wet cheeks
I think He is, too
He tells me that
If He is to die
He wants to die
Kissing me
I couldn't agree more

Laying on the grass
Kissing him
My heart is full
The very air is red now
The red fires
So close now

A hit
A light
Bright light
I'm blind
Disintegrating
No pain
Crumbling
Inside-out

In a flash
Gone

Author notes

A bad dream Taylor had that struck me strongly, it really stuck me, and I feel like I had to write this
