first st

Trees dance in lying winds
while children play in its laughter.
Though the street cracks
and worlds collapse,
with sticks they toy with its fire.
Jumping into a starving life
with joy and eager eyes..
Leaving the broken trees
for the next generation
on this cold,
        deceitful
street.

I love the 'jumping into a starving life with joy and eager eyes' line especially.

Life is full of twists and turns.
    Nice flow to this poem
    well done

  • Pretty much reminds me of every day. Just when you think you're beginning to see the beauty of life. Something craptastic happens and you find yourself wanting to die. I can totally relate to this.

  • Ah, such imagery here. I liked the lines "Through the street cracks/ and worlds collapse..." They have such a ring to them.

    Great write
