A Parody of Forgiven

Oh yes, I hear this lying that you speak of
We're in the court of the truth under wraps.
It'd be best for one of them to give up
But all would like to lie that it does not exist.

And they can't see past the masks on the heads
To see that you've been neatly tricked
To lie and lie again

Cause we're all guilty of the same things
We speak the words whether or not they are the truth.
And I know that I have been lied to.
And I just hope that the world plays along too.

So don't you dare blame me for
Lying through my teeth
I'm just mimicking you.
Because here in the thick of it
We only lie for ourselves.

Isn't the world just a parody?
A lie over the truth, who could say?
Images held so close.
Falsified masks to protect?
We kiss goodbye the gift of honesty.
