unerringly make one wallow
in self defined pity-
yet there is always a door;
a door to freedom earned.
a long darkened hallway,
seen only in the dreams
of those without hope
continuing, in deep roads of the mind.
shotcuts, leading to dead ends and
microscopic informal tales that
lead off the golden path.
hungry for what is, and shall be again.
slowly coming upon the light,
ever brighter in its brilliance, as the door to hope opens
and all is shown it lustrous beauty.
all along, I have known the way,
it has just taken time- and a few dead ends, to reach it.

Quite gripping to read...and the last couple of lines made me think about my own life...
We do tend to get bogged down or trapped in dead ends sometimes, life is like that, that's when we feel we have walked 10 steps forward and 20 steps backwards, so then we have to try all over again, till we find the right path to take us all the way
I do however feel some of your lines are quite lengthy, compared to the rest of the poem, if you revise this piece you may be able to tighten them up a bit, which would help the flow of your words better, I do hope I haven't offended you by saying so

Overall impact: Inspirational, positive and uplifting theme, interesting metaphors and imagery...thank you for your contribution to the Bandits contest
Best Wishes...

The gateway to hope and prosperity and great joy and peace! The road to this destination is not a straight one and there are many detours and dead ends to deal with but in the end...it is all worthwhile! Thanks for sharing this poem of Hope realized!
Best of luck in the contest!
