Absinthe

Though the bleeding eyes of hours passed I could not remember much.
The half empty glass in my hand
the unknown stains on my clothing
the stench in the air, thick and aromatic
Perhaps it was my hazed vision or the laughing crowds?
Or maybe the young lady that sat in my lap.
The thin bottle in her hand
Uring me, teasing me
Pouring her into my glass

Dearest, you know what happens when I drink too much?
I begin to see you more clearly.
I see you and only you, sometimes I like to think i's not you but it's me.
Could it be you?
When I drink I see heaven
and I see hell
I see your intentions
and your lies
The young sparkle in your eyes won't distract me I know you too well
But as I drink more I find your smile to be more and more irresistable.

Darling, you know what happens when I drink to much?
The task of dominating you becomes a trial in my mind to stop.
My loins are heated and I wish to take myself out on you

Darling, you know what happens when I drink too much.
I fall in love all over again.

Author notes

Mister Winton says whenever he has too much absinthe he gets visions of a really pretty girl. He says he's never seen the green fairy but I think it's what he's talking about. The fire in his loins burn for her and being that he's a gentleman he won't act on his impulses.

Silly...

What did you think

    Welcome to AllPoetry!!!

This gave me memories of New Orleans a long time ago, but it also reminded me of an ex I had, and I got drunk one night and woke up next to her, thanks to the drink!!! It was a mistake and never happened again. Damn Moonshine!!!

    Welcome to AllPoetry

I've never drank that nor will I ever as I don't drink alcohol but it is always interesting to hear how people react when drinking it and what they see - this gave some insight to it in a good poetic way Nicely done mate
