The waves roll so gently in the sea.
I stare out into the horizon
And see what could be.
But all I see is emptiness...
The colourless sky,
The love I don't feel
My heart breaks as I stare at the clouds float on by.
The empty canvas that is before me.
Maybe I'll paint that canvas,
I'll paint my own world.
I'll make my heart whole,
And watch as this life unfurls.

Nice work here. It feels like a very personal take on the prompt.
I like the idea behind the piece very much, however I do think it still needs some work.
On the fourth line of the second stanza, I highly doubt you mean "flout" and suspect the word you were looking for was "float."
Furthermore, the fifth line of the second stanza isn't really a complete sentence and therefore needs rewording.Aside from that, is a nice write.
Thanks for entering.

Lovely job! I appreciate your reference to coloring the canvas-- the picture has vivid color and so this was appropriate.
