A Well Watched Cell

How far may my mind wander caged in her gaze
that has long since strayed to another dreamers maze,
of emotions that im sure closely mirror mine ,
for he has been fed at the same baited line,
waiting, still hungry, for the same delayed sign,
while trapped in a gaze that shifts but yet stays
to make a lonely minute last for whole days.

We share borrowed time in debt to her eyes,
wondering if their beauty masks bitter lies,

a deep breathing facade blinds my eyes to her game,
while soon will I be left alone with my shame,
for waiting so long for a dream that never came.
