Many Times a Choreographed Idea

people become lions
blond ponytails forgotten
in gyrokinesis, friction changes things
they keep meaning what their eyes say
sharpen their teeth on a cross
move on to inquisitions, crusades
crouching down, in a diagonal cannon across the floor
claws against metal
through velum

spring into horizontal –
competing with drums
fencing with cobwebs
circling tightly
black and white thoughts,
pulse dynamic
hanging from a tenuous branch
condemnation
revelation-repentance-salvation
a script / recipe
tables of grapevines
ornately carved
pressing into, around smooth tabletops
elbows pressing down
running fingertips along
the nails that hold the edges together
staring at the ceiling
chaos

Author notes

A choreography I did a few years ago.

Some of my impressions of it.

Should this be organized differently? or does the free-flowing structure work well for it?

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!
