Dry heat from outside
leaks in dark like
the desert
night
Stars
bubble up
melted in the
sweltering stew
from the sky
And you in
almost nothing
sweating without
the covers you kicked
down to lie rumpled
at the foot of
the bed
Your heat
consumes
what little
cool was left
in my manner
as the room
evaporates
in the heat
Watching
you sleep
I slowly
fall for
this
the
heat
the air
and your
perspiration
as early dew
graces your form
Who knew this
hell could be
so heavenly
and all I
have to
do is
wake
you
