and I feel like I know him

He’s young,
but wise beyond his years,
He’s cynical,
with a sprinkling of hope,
He’s hilarious,
but sad if you just look a little deeper.

He looks at the world
From every angle,
And writes about the things
That no one else even
Takes the time to notice.

He’s a master of brevity,
A sardonic and jaded
Wizard with a pen.

I really like this and the title is perfect. a persons poetry says a lot about who they are and to me the best kind is when I feel like a voyeur of someones inner private thoughts.

particularly liked this line "he's hilarious,/but sad if you just look a little deeper."

because sorrow is generally below surface and humour is something we invented to cope; often no one takes the time to look just that little bit deeper.
