Strength and Weakness

Would you run away, if all you had suddenly disappeared? If everything you knew and everything you loved slipped away in one swift moment, leaving you in agony? How about if your entire world suddenly begins to shatter. Anything familiar to you is taken away. All the people around you leave...forever.

Because it is agony. Words cannot describe the feeling. It's an emptiness that begins in the chest, a small jagged whole, and spreads to your gut. It makes your stomach ache and churn uncontrollably, and all you want to do is double over, curl in a ball and make it go away. It continues to your legs, numbing your movements so you cannot get away from it. Then into your arms, freezing your last defense...up into your neck so you cannot turn away. Finally, it swarms your head...a dark, looming cloud of thick black and void that wraps around your every thought and emotion twisting and altering them.

Your body feels like a hollow shell, abandoned and unwanted by it's former inhabitant; a disgusting thing used for dirty selfishness. What would happen to your soul? Would it fly away into nothingness? Would it cringe into the back of your mind and hide in your deepest secrets? Would it be able to protect itself from the loneliness...the terrible realization that you are alone after all...threatening so surround and engulf into despair. Else, you enter a realm of utter numbness, unfeeling and unmoved; yet never sad nor lonely.

Would you be able to protect yourself?

Author notes

Okay...it's in the middle of the night right now, so I'm too tired to tell what mistakes I made or how bad it sounds. I'm going to revise it slowly...day by day kind of thing. If you find anything that sounds weird or could use a little more...I don't know...detail? Just feel free to leave suggestions, otherwise enjoy<3
