Séance

Do you know me?
You know me through what I write, and I you.
Why do you write your poems?
You write to a partner with no voice, as I do.

I wrote poems speaking of love, and companionship.
My poems have no heart, nor warmth to console me.
I wrote poems speaking of a hollow loneliness, and love lost.
My poems have no form with which to embrace me.

You ask me to write of a relationship without love!
My poems can speak of holding you close.
Whispering my affections in a cold serenade
This is but a séance searching dead words.

The language of love, feelings written word
Words no matter how much passion they carry
Regardless the weight their truth convey
Can never whisper and serenade, nor voice the words

I Love You

Wow! This is an excellent take
on the prompt. Very deep and
    thought provoking. Keep the
ink flowing. Good luck in the
    contest.

It's got beauty... it's got the stinging cold truth of loneliness.

your poem is interesting with its message, and right from the start left me a little baffled trying to figure out what you wanted to portray
and i believe it was that as much as poetry with its words and flow
    may sound beatiful and romantic,
it doesnt compare to a real romance with its love, meaning and embrace

I really enjoyed reading this. It holds soul searching questions and great insights. I love the line about a seance for the dead words, for that is what I think I need to have! You did a great job on conveying the frustration and emotion.

    wow

this is so full of emotion and truth while some people can find love and throw it away yet it seems to elude others, some have but a fleeting chance and that love can be so powerful and so gut wrenching very well written
