Only, the Only Option.

It was suppose to be you and I,
forever and always
but somewhere down the road,
forever ended and always disappeared.

Our story filled with hurt and pain
but shadowed by love and laughter.
I fell for you instantly
and I knew you were unsure
but what we had was magic.

That something that rarely comes along,
once in a lifetime, let alone twice.
You were scared but so was I.
The only difference,
I was willing to take a chance
but you were not.

You packed up
and didn't even say goodbye.
The inevitable, I knew
but a hug would have been nice.
Your "I love you" just too late.

I think the hardest part,
knowing you are happy without me.
I always said I wanted you to be happy,
but I wanted you to be happy
with me.

I know I can live without you
but only if I have to.
So I guess now,
only is my only option.
