The Sleeping Ones

The Sleeping Ones

Feic...
The cliffs of the Emerald Isle
The roaring, white-capped waters.
The rolling hills, all flowing green
See...
Ireland's sons, her daughters.

taiscéal...
Each cave in the cliff-sides
Any place that's dark and deep
But leave the deepest depths alone;
Explore...
But don't wake them from their sleep.

imigh...
You've roused the sleeping ones
The faeries, from their dreams
You failed to heed the warning;
Depart...
while you're still free.

Author notes

Okay..written for a contest, and hopefully it's all right.
Now, As I don't know how reliable the translator I found was, I beg pardon of all those who actually speak the language.
According to the translator,
Feic - see
taiscéal - explore
imigh - depart

    Lovely poem and one of of very few that chose to use the Irish language. As far as I'm aware your chosen words are accurate (for some reason I had féach stuck in my head [look not see.])

    This is cool. I do have Irish in me but am clueless, I take your translations at face value. Kudos for learning new words to use and for a well-written poem. =)
