Lightweight Lies

Darling, even before you open your mouth,
I know the words to be spoken will be lies.
I just know that look in your brown eyes.
You want to invent someone interesting
But your not fooling anyone anymore.
It’s like your trying to convince yourself,
But you know it’s tearing your heart apart.
If you want to lie, it has to be believable,
All that you said, is too good to be true.
One more lie and our friendship is through.
I understand why you do it all the time,
But I told you that it doesn’t work with me.
After all, you can’t lie to a liar.

What do you think?

but where does the truth lie
    when bent with whispers.
you say youve seen in my eyes,
but do you know they linger.
the words are not always so easy
with people ready and aiming their fingers
    like a gun.
and still the truth may be there hiding on the tip of my tongue
but whos to know, and what more to say
when your mind is made up anyway.
after all you think you see but remember this...
    you cant cheat a cheat.

sorry bout that just had the earge to make a little reply up to it as i liked it.

  • Bravo nicely put , atleast you opend your self up to this other person whoever it is, is lucky to have you call her out on her BS the right way instead of letting her marinate in it. Good write
