In The Arms of Love

 

 

I close my eyes and yet I still see...
      the image of you holding me,
feel that deep sense of affection,
that which your words have planted
deep in the dust of my soul.

I close my ears and yet I still hear...
      the deep tone of your voice
calling my name along the distance,
such a magical harp, so seductive
and yet as pure as water.

I close my heart and yet I still feel...
      your grace crossing the borders,
bringing down my walls and shells;
so sweet your kisses are, irresistible,
unerase-able from my memory.

I close my mind and yet I still dream...
      visioning the romantic moment,
the sunset, your arms, our breathes
mixing between two longing lips,
as the world stands still...
                                        for a moment.

Dear love, we will sing the sweetest love song
'cause I close my eyes and yet I still see...
                                              you're destined to be with me.

    I have read this once and i am reading it again for the imagery is lifelike on the mist of a morning rain breath taking as always you pen and heart meshed in thought and brought out the sun it gave many hugs always Angel♥

    This is just very... wonderful. A soothing piece... though, perhaps, a bit on the longing side. There's a deep, smooth sadness to the whole thing. A gentle, warm beauty of the soul. Stylistically, reminds me of the New Age Enya, but, I must say, even more heart felt than some of her writes. It is a true gift you have... to see deep in yourself... and speak the truth!

    And I also love your very skilled artistic way of laying out the page for the piece, your choice of font and font sizes... It really means a lot to see a poet take such care with the design of a poem.

    Reading this reminds me of one of my poems: "A Lover's Dream" where I describe something similar to the feelings you brought out in this poem. We all have some past love that we just can't let go. Great write and hope your contest goes well.

    a lovely gentle poem about love and perhaps god....it is so hard to write a love poem that is not cliched or contrived...this is beautiful and unique..well done...this has got to be a winner....keep well

    I find it amazing that this is the first poem I read. I literally just reconnected with my first love and though it has been many years, your poem says exactly what I was feeling. It's as if you were in my head and heart and wrote what I was feeling.
