Since the day I met you
Stars dangle from strings in front of my face.
I see swallowtails dripping with colors,
Where before there was not an eye in the audience.
Perceptions of safety and comfort lie in this:
Here, the patter of raindrops and there, the shuffle of your shoes.
We're mumbling the same words of unspoken happiness
Amd we're watching the same sky turn red.
Stained-glass windows dimly light a black room
And your words, suspended in the air are infinitely inspiring.
When I'm faced with disorder, the friendship that rests in your arms
Is always substantially comforting.
I'm fond of your laughter, which flows as freely as a cascade
And has a glimmer more distinctive than the sun's.
Your silence is eloquence at its most regal state
At times I can only wish I knew what you were thinking.
When I become Atlas, and the weight of the world
Begins to crush every bone in my feeble shoulders
There's only one thing that keeps me from breaking:
It's you.

This sounds like a wonderful friendship. I really love the last stanza:
When I become Atlas, and the weight of the world
Begins to crush every bone in my feeble shoulders
There's only one thing that keeps me from breaking:
It's you.
This really pulls the rest of the piece together and seems to contain all your gratitude and love (not sexual) for your friend. Friendship is extremely precious when it this close and if someone gave me this I would be trilled.
Great work. If your friend ever reads it, they should love it, as I do.
Great work.
