So Long

do you know what its like
to have this feeling in your heart
deep down inside
twisting, tearing, you apart…

it only grows and grows
as time passes by
pressure, pain, sadness
oh and i wonder why

why me you have dismissed
me, my love,
for you my best friend

have you forgotten who I am
have you forgotten
where we have been

what we went through
where we were
where we are

you are out of reach
you are away so far…

so many things i wish i could say
so many things i wish i could do

i need you
its you i miss

...i never was able
to tell you this

and now your gone

my best friend,
i love you...

so long

    Melancholy Defined...

I really do like your poem, and I'm glad I clicked on your featured link tonight (or rather, this morning). I felt the subject's pain, reminding me of the sad unfairness of life and love. This terrible condition (wracked emotion) of our shared humanity is something each one of us feels at some time in our lives, either through a break-up of a relationship, or in the unfortunate death of a loved one. Thank you for sharing your beautifully written, heart-felt poem of loss. You have a unique talent for bringing the emotions to the light of day, which is very therapeutic and healing, so they say... Keep it flowing, Poet!!
    Peace,
    Cyn

Wow... how heart wrenching to hear a story of a missed love. I'm sorry that things did not work in the way you had always hoped whether it be because the timing was never right or you could never find the words... At least that's how this poem spoke to me. Find solace in the fact that they were a beautiful friend and you had cherishable moments together. Beautiful write i can't stress enough.
    Peace and Love always.
